What the code means
Locational sliding. Both features sit on the zero line; clearance is small and can approach zero.
Formula
H7 at Ø20 mm
ES / EI +21 / 0 µm
IT7 = 21 µm
Limits 20.000 / 20.021 mm
Ø20 H7
H7/h6 at Ø20 mm
Locational clearance / sliding fit. Clearance is hole minus shaft (negative = interference).
- Hole H7: 20.000–20.021 mm
- Shaft h6: 19.987–20.000 mm
- Maximum clearance 34 µm
- Minimum clearance 0 µm
How we use this in the toolroom
Ground guide pins that must slide into a bush without a mallet are H7/h6. If the assembler is fighting it, check you did not grind the pin as k6 by mistake.
The numbers come from ISO 286 tables, the same charts Accurate Industries uses in Pune for dies, moulds and precision tooling. AlwaysReach is the browser version of that lookup — see our story.
