What the code means
Capital H = internal feature, lower limit = nominal. Grade 7 = finishing / location. Do not read this as 25 h7 (a shaft).
Formula
H7 at Ø25 mm
ES / EI +21 / 0 µm
IT7 = 21 µm
Limits 25.000 / 25.021 mm
Ø25 H7
How we use this in the toolroom
When a customer drawing says Ø25 H7, that is the reamed location hole — dowel, bush or bearing bore — not a milled pocket. We ream or bore it, then check min/max with a plug or bore gauge before the mating pin is fitted.
The numbers come from ISO 286 tables, the same charts Accurate Industries uses in Pune for dies, moulds and precision tooling. AlwaysReach is the browser version of that lookup — see our story.
