The calculator still uses the 75% engagement workshop rule for tap drill (major − pitch). Whitworth’s 55° form means the theoretical height differs slightly from Unified; treat the drill as a shop recommendation and confirm against a Whitworth tap-drill table for critical work.

Pune shops still service Whitworth on older import machines. We do not tap BSW with a metric tap of the same major diameter — the angle and pitch are both wrong.
