Why a dedicated stainless steel page?
Kitchen equipment, chemical plant, marine fittings, sanitary tube and decorative sheet. 304 and 316 are treated as the same density here; pick the grade for labelling, not for mass.

Alloys on this page
- Stainless Steel 304 — 8 g/cm³. Austenitic 18/8 stainless. Slightly denser than carbon steel.
- Stainless Steel 316 — 8 g/cm³. Marine-grade 18/10/2 stainless; use 8.00 g/cm³ for estimates.
Duplex stainless is slightly lower (~7.8 g/cm³) and ferritic grades vary. Ferritic 430 is closer to 7.7. Switch to custom density if you are quoting those alloys.
